Wonderful Weedy Wound Salve

This salve celebrates the amazing therapeutic properties of weeds!

'Weed' means a wild plant growing where it is unwanted.

If we look at weeds a little differently and ask the question, why is it growing here? What is the weed trying to tell us? They can be very informative from indicating what is lacking in our soil, to what issues we are dealing with and how nature can help.

They are like nature's healers coming to the rescue and growing what we need to restore balance.

Alot of weeds have a long history of being used as medicinal plants to alleviate all sorts of ailments.

This salve contains 'weeds' foraged from my garden. I can't say they are weeds really as they are very welcome in my garden and I'm grateful for their presence and the messages they bring.

Self-Heal contains active constituents which are antibacterial, astringent, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, which can be very beneficial to wound healing.

Dandelion contains antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

Plantain has several anti-inflammatory compounds including flavonoids, glycosides and tannins which can help to reduce inflammation and pain.

Willowherb is high in mucilage which can have a soothing and moisturising effect.

St John's Wort contains properties which have an analgesic action and is a nervine which can be calming on nerves.

Marjoram has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

These medicinal plants have been infused in organic sunflower oil and combined with beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil to make a salve can promote wound healing for minor cuts, sores, burns, bites.

A great salve to add to your first aid kit!

Ingredients: Self-heal, St John's Wort, Marjoram, Willowherb, Dandelion, Plantain infused in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil.

 All in a handy aluminium tin which you can reuse after use and fits nicely in your pocket.

This product is handmade in small batches to provide a high standard of quality for each product.

Salves will vary in colour depending on the colour of the beeswax and oil used.

(Natural beeswax will vary from being light almost white colour to a very dark orange colour.)

Product can soften in hot weather. If it is too soft put it in the fridge for a short period of time to harden.
